The amber LED strip is ecological and environmentally friendly, it complies with the DS43 standard, which means that it does not pollute the skies or affect biodiversity and for this reason it is recommended for outdoor lighting of mining conveyor belts.
Light pollution is defined as the alteration of the natural darkness of the night, caused by wasted, unnecessary or inadequate artificial LED light, generated by outdoor lighting, which reduces the darkness of the skies and thus makes astronomical observation difficult, reducing the effectiveness of optical instruments.
This pollution also affects birds, they are attracted by individual luminaires or by the halo produced by a set of them, after which they become disoriented, collide and fall.
The amber led strip model: 10W-L10-230V-A has its luminous flux attenuated to 850 lm, enough to not pollute the sky with an illuminance or luminous efficiency between 50 and 60 lux at 2m height, but it is recommended to concentrate its light beams on the useful area that is to be illuminated and not to exceed with light adjacent sectors that do not need lighting.
For outdoor lighting, the DS43 standard establishes that the luminous flux of the luminaires, their CCT color temperature must be less than 2,200K to reduce light pollution and not cause environmental impact.
On the other hand, when we use 6500°K temperature of color led lighting, we are polluting with blue color and it is necessary to reduce the spectral radiation of the blue color to a range less than 7% and this is only achieved when we design the LED lighting with a color temperature less than 2,200°K.
The amber LED strips are installed inside the tunnel on one side of the conveyor belt and also on the outside unless it has a side passage with handrails, in which case we recommend installing it on the handrail, illuminating downwards to avoid light pollution, If possible use a high-lumen visor to avoid the sky pollution.
Led strips are 10m modular because it is maintenance-free, which means that if a segment is damaged it can be replaced quickly, saving on maintenance costs.
Each 10m segment of LED strip has an isolation fuse that is recommended by international standards to prevent the fire from spreading to the next 10m LED strip due to a short circuit caused by a big rock impact.
That is why we do not recommend long segments of single-piece LED strips of 50m or 100m.
It is preferable that these be modular, measuring 10 m, to prevent fires from spreading to other areas of the tunnel.
Each set of LED strip comes in a 10m roll that includes its respective mounting accessories, which are 20 clips and 20 plastic straps, for easy installation by holding it every 0.5m on cable trays, power distribution cables or on 1/8 steel cable catenaries.
LED strips are rugged, resistant to compression, dust, moisture and acid water with an IP68 penetration rating because you can submerge them in water.
They are extruded with food grade silicone, a transparent fire retardant material, halogen-free because when burned it does not generate toxic gases.
When we power the LED strip under the American standard at 220VAC we do it using two 110V phases without the neutral, the polarity of the cables does not matter.
When we do it under the European standard at 230VAC, we do it respecting the polarity by connecting the brown to live wire and the blue to the neutral wire.
It is worth mentioning that 99% of the LED strips that are powered at 220VAC have a tolerance range of 200 to 230VAC but the American standard has live wires of 110V, 115V, 120V and 127V and you never know which of these voltages you will find in a tunnel.
For example, if the client delivers you 127VAC live wires and you have to use two of these, the total voltage will be 254 VAC, where 99% of the LED strips that exist in the market will burn out and you already know that no body gives you a replacement guarantee.
