Power supply with battery backup for emergency led strip lighting, model: EPS50
According to international regulations, after the incident in Chile in 2010, all underground mines must have, in addition to the main tunnel, a second evacuation route in case of emergency. This had already been applied before in the design of vehicle and train tunnels when they cross an entire mountain; they must have a service tunnel that is used as an emergency route in case of a fire.
The emergency route must have emergency lighting that turns on automatically to facilitate evacuation during the contingency and the autonomy or battery backup for emergency led strip lighting must be for a period where people have enough time to completely evacuate the tunnel and this period must not be less than 60 minutes, preferably 120 minutes.
Emergency lighting, as its name suggests, is only for emergency cases and does not have to be the same as normal lighting, but with minimum lighting levels and according to the international standard, it is recommended to have 10% of the normal lighting levels of a tunnel, in this case 5 to 10 lux as a minimum at floor level.
A battery back up power supply model EPS50 could use a 10m string of 15W-L10-230V-W LED strip in a standard 5m x 5m tunnel giving an illuminance at 4m height of 90 to 96 lux for 120 minutes, but a 50m string of LED strip this illuminance drops to 25 lux over the same 120 minute time period and is still a solution that exceeds the recommended levels for emergency lighting.
Green is usually used as emergency lighting, however, some recommend orange or blue light as they have greater penetration in fog and smoke when the emergency is a fire. These colors have less illuminance than white light, but can lower the installation from 4m to 2m in height, even to 1.5m for better results.
Our LED strips can be easily installed on power distribution cables, cable trays or on 1/8 steel cable catenaries, where they can be relocated for other mining tasks.
It is a 10m modular LED strip because it is maintenance-free, which means that if a segment is damaged it can be replaced quickly, saving on maintenance costs.
Each 10m segment of LED strip has an isolation fuse that is recommended by international standards to prevent the fire from spreading to the next 10m LED strip due to a short circuit caused by a truck impact.
That is why we do not recommend long segments of single-piece LED strips of 50m or 100m.
It is preferable that these be modular, measuring 10 m, to prevent fires from spreading to other areas of the tunnel.
You can use the color that represents greater security for your tunnel, all our models of 220V high voltage LED strip in various colors, their led strip connectors are compatible with the power supply connectors of the model: EPS50. Just remember if you use the EPS50 as emergency lighting for your mining camp or in offices, place only one Led strip of 10m and press the TEST button for 3 seconds to switch to emergency mode and vice versa to switch to normal mode, after charging the battery for 24 hrs.
Each set of LED strip comes in a 10m roll that includes its respective mounting accessories, which are 20 clips and 20 plastic straps, for easy installation by holding it every 0.5m on power distriution cables, cable trays, or 1/8 steel cable catenaries.
LED strips are rugged, resistant to compression, dust, moisture and acid water with an IP68 penetration rating because you can submerge them in water.
They are extruded with food grade silicone, a transparent fire retardant material, halogen-free because when burned it does not generate toxic gases.
When we power the LED strip under the American standard at 220VAC we do it using two 110V phases without the neutral, the polarity of the cables does not matter.
When we do it under the European standard at 230VAC, we do it respecting the polarity by connecting the brown to live wire and the blue to the neutral wire.
The EPS50 power supply with battery backup, according to the diagram, can be powered at high voltage of 220VAC in American and European standards, but it can also be powered at 110VAC since the driver supports a multi-range or multi-voltage of 100 to 300VAC and at the same time the driver converts the 110VAC input to 220VAC output.
Due to these characteristics, it can be used in construction and in other places such as camps, where the voltage is at 110VAC, you can use from 1 to 5 LED strips model 15W-L10-230V-W if it is a single LED strip it will shine more and if with 5 LED strips it will shine less but the backup time will always be 120 minutes.
Box contains 10 pieces of LED strip with a total length of 100m plus 2 drivers with backup batteries because one driver supply energy for 50m led strip serie.

However, couriers often leave these cardboard boxes exposed to rain and moisture, the cardboard disintegrates and the goods are lost during transport.
