Led strip white light in underground mines is subject to international safety standards to prevent accidents inside tunnels.
The labor departments of some countries have their own standards and establish that the mining tunnel must be illuminated at least at 50 lux at ground level only for free pedestrian and vehicular traffic, or 120 lux at ground level for temporary mechanical activities, but our high voltage 220V led strips 1850 lm far exceed these safety levels.
Our high voltage 220V led strip 15W, 1850 lm, 6000°K white light, model: 15W-L10-230V-W exceeds the safety standard of 50 lux minimum for lighting only for free transit of vehicular and pedestrian in tunnels.
A typical mining tunnel has dimensions 5m wide per 5m height with capacity for a single truck, we will only need to install one led strip at 4m height on one side of the tunnel to achieve an illuminance or luminous efficiency of 180 to 200 lux, enough to even read a technical manual.
However, if we have a tunnel dimensions 10m wide per 8m height with capacity for two trucks, if we install a single LED strip at 7m height on one side, the illuminance or luminous efficiency will be around 100 lux, enough to transit and carry out occasional mechanical works.
Many sellers will show you a catalog with hundreds of models of led strips because they all have low luminous flux, do not be confused, our 15W-L10-230V-W 1850lm model can meet all your lighting needs for medium to large tunnels unless you want to illuminate a micro tunnel less than 3 meters high, then you can select our 10W and 6W models.
Our LED strips can be easily installed on power distribution cables, cable trays or on 1/8 steel cable catenaries, where they can be relocated for other mining tasks.
It is a 10m modular LED strip because it is maintenance-free, which means that if a segment is damaged it can be replaced quickly, saving on maintenance costs.
Each 10m segment of LED strip has an isolation fuse that is recommended by international standards to prevent the fire from spreading to the next 10m LED strip due to a short circuit caused by a truck impact.
That is why we do not recommend long segments of single-piece LED strips of 50m or 100m.
It is preferable that these be modular, measuring 10 m, to prevent fires from spreading to other areas of the tunnel.
Each set of LED strip comes in a 10m roll that includes its respective mounting accessories, which are 20 clips and 20 plastic straps, for easy installation by holding it every 0.5m on power distriution cables, cable trays, or 1/8 steel cable catenaries.
LED strips are rugged, resistant to compression, dust, moisture and acid water with an IP68 penetration rating because you can submerge them in water.
They are extruded with food grade silicone, a transparent fire retardant material, halogen-free because when burned it does not generate toxic gases.
When we power the LED strip under the American standard at 220VAC we do it using two 110V phases without the neutral, the polarity of the cables does not matter.
When we do it under the European standard at 230VAC, we do it respecting the polarity by connecting the brown to live wire and the blue to the neutral wire.
It is worth mentioning that 99% of the LED strips that are powered at 220VAC have a tolerance range of 200 to 230VAC but the American standard has live wires of 110V, 115V, 120V and 127V and you never know which of these voltages you will find in a tunnel.
For example, if the client delivers you 127V live wires and you have to use two of these, the total voltage will be 254 VAC, where 99% of the LED strips that exist in the market will burn out and you already know that no body gives you a replacement guarantee.
